THE children in year one have explored the topic of toys by visiting Preston Hall Museum, near Stockton.
Chantelle Bell from class three said: "We went to see old-fashioned toys. We saw lots of toys from the past. Most of them were made from wood.
"Most of my toys are made from plastic."
Samantha Forster and Abby Kirkup enjoyed playing skittles.
Wayne Doolan, of class four, enjoyed playing with Jacob's Ladder - one of the many wooden toys the children explored at the museum.
The children continued to develop their knowledge and understanding of how toys work in design technology lessons, by designing and making moving toys.
Teachers said the children not only had first-hand experience of handling pieces of history, but they got a taste for science by classifying the toys into types of materials and then compared them to toys of present day.
