PEOPLE are being asked their opinions on sports pitches with a view to upgrading those most in need.
Middlesbrough Council's sports development team has produced a draft playing pitch strategy for the town, outlining areas it has identified as in need of improvements.
Now it is asking sports players what they think should be done, before finalising the document.
Development activities manager Louise Morris said: "We are currently seeking feedback and gathering views from users and other interested parties.
"We need to firm up recommendations, put them in a strategic context and ensure our strategy is supported by Sport England, so it can help shape planning for pitch provision across Middlesbrough.
"We've looked at the demand on pitches in terms of the number of clubs and games played, but we've also examined quality issues like the nature of the playing surfaces and support facilities, such as changing rooms."
It is hoped that the strategy will help the council and its partners secure external funding to upgrade facilities.
