CABLE puller Andrew Riddler was foiled by his shoes when he tried to outrun the law, a court heard yesterday.
As Riddler, 25, fled as police moved to arrest him on the market square in Ripon, his shoes fell off and he was caught, Peter Scott, prosecuting, told Harrogate magistrates.
The officers had had a warrant but it was what they found when they searched Riddler, of Skelldale Caravan Park, Ripon, that led him to court - five tablets in a bag in his trouser pocket were identified as Ecstasy.
Yesterday Riddler pleaded guilty to drugs possession and he was fined £200 with £115 costs.
He was also fined £50 for breaching bail after Mr Scott said police discovered he had gone to play football instead of keeping an appointment with them.
