AN historian has been appointed to catalogue pictures and information about the County Durham and Darlington fire brigade.
Craig Godwin, of Consett, who has converted the loft area of his house into a storage area for fire brigade memorabilia, has now been asked to take charge of the brigade's own pictures.
A spokesman said the history of the brigade, which was established 50 years ago, has been recorded on thousands of negatives, including very early glass ones.
Mr Godwin will work on a volunteer basis to record information about the brigade, and index all the old photographs.
