IT IS the sort of trip most youngsters can only dream about - but for little Rosie Henry it has just become a reality.

The four-year-old, from Romanby in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, was yesterday winging her way to Lapland, to meet Father Christmas.

Rosie suffers from a rare neurological disorder which affects her movement, speech and eating, and which is gradually getting worse.

Her trip was arranged by the charity When You Wish Upon a Star, after her name was put forward by staff at the Martin House children's hospice at Boston Spa, near Wetherby, North Yorkshire.

Her mother, Diane, who flew out with Rosie, said: "She loves Christmas - we have decorated the house from top to bottom this year. She is so excited and really looking forward to going."

Mrs Henry and her husband, Richard, a firefighter, have set up a charity to raise cash for the special equipment Rosie needs.
