A hospital got in the festive spirit when it held its Christmas bazaar.
Centuries-old Sherburn Hospital, which is a few miles from Durham and is now a residential home, opened its doors to the public to offer some seasonal cheer.
The event had stalls, including bric-a-brac, home made cakes, clothes, crafts, toiletries and jewellery, and there was also a raffle and tombola, as well as a guess the weight of the cake competition.
Joanne Carr, head of care, said: "We had a good turn-out and everybody seemed to have an enjoyable time.
"We had a tombola, raffle and homemade cakes, mince pies and mulled wine."
Proceeds from the event, which have yet to be totalled up, will go to the residents' welfare fund.
