A COMMUNITY group has been given a computer, thanks to The Northern Echo.
The Black and Decker Workforce Charity read in the newspaper that an application to BT Community Connections for a computer by Chilton West Residents' Association had failed three times.
This prompted the group to get in touch with Peter Crawford, secretary of the residents' association, and offer to supply a computer for a community house the association is opening.
Mr Crawford said: "The computer will be used for office work for the association, but we also want to open it to the public, to show them how to use the internet, let them write letters on it and things."
