A STUDENT is celebrating after becoming the first student to have completed more than half of the millennium Volunteers programme.
Kate Lindsley, who is studying at Bede College, Billingham, is so far the only student across the Tees Valley to have reached the 100-hour mark.
The programme involves carrying out voluntary sporting activities through the British Sports Trust.
Ms Lindsley started by coaching basketball at St Michael's School, Billingham, and has helped Stockton Borough Council sports development team with their coaching scheme.
She has also worked with special needs children at horseriding.
Tutor Ian Innes said: "Kate has worked tirelessly.
