A DISPLAY showing the success of a scheme designed to improve the quality of life in Derwentside was given the thumbs-up by North-West Durham MP Hilary Armstrong.
Labour's Chief Whip viewed the display during an open day held by Consett South Partnership at the town's YMCA.
The event showcased the work of projects by local people, businesses and organisations to improve the quality of life for residents in The Grove, Moorside and Berry Edge.
Following last Friday's visit to Consett YMCA, the MP also dropped in on Consett Employment Service to try out the newly installed Jobpoint terminals there.
The touch-screen computers allow unemployed people to view the latest job vacancies in Derwentside, the UK and across the European Union.
Mrs Armstrong said: "I'm pleased to see how new technology is being used to find people work in the Consett area.
