A MAN accused of a sex attack on a great-grandmother has made his first appearance at Crown Court.
Builder's labourer Michael Rochester, 26, spoke only to confirm his name during the short hearing at Newcastle.
Widow Frances Doran, 87, was attacked as she slept in her home in Grangetown, Sunderland, on Friday, November 16.
Mr Rochester, of Hardgate Road, Hill View Estate, Sunderland, is accused of burglary with intent to rape, attempted rape, indecent assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was remanded in custody until February 13.
