Peter Merner of Henknowle Manor House became the League Singles Champion when he beat Stephen Liddle of Crook Olde Horse Shoe in both frames of the Final played at Bishop Auckland Derby.
In the semi-final Merner disposed of Warren Stamp of the Bishop Auckland King's Head by winning both frames, whilst Liddle beat Steve Balanaves of Bishop Auckland Derby 2-1.
Michael Hoggart and Paul Willey of Bishop Auckland Derby won the Doubles Championship when they beat their teammates, Chris Peacock and Stephen Lowther in the deciding frame of the best of five match.
Durham and
District League
Chester-le-Street Garden Farm were taken to the final frame in the captain's game before they edged through to victory at Bowburn Oak Tree A.
The home side went ahead through Paul Carr but the visitors ran in three in a row through David Baines, Ian Mitchinson and Steve Donkin. Alan Tumelty reduced the arrears only to see Trevor Walton restore the two points gap. However Adam Blakey and Paul Carr then pulled the home sides level.
Ian Staines pushed the visitors ahead but Keith Hann and Derek Taylor took the Oak Tree one short of victory. Trevor Walton stepped up to play the last singles for the Garden Farm and managed to equalise but then had to carry on to play the captain's game. Trevor did not waiver under the pressure as he went on to beat Clive McFee to record an odd point success.

Tow Law League
Ithe one outstanding match of the season Hamilton Row Black Horse pulled off a massive and unexpected win over the visiting Tow Law Black Horse A, who at one time looked as if they would challenge for the Championship. However his defeat pushed them down to fourth spot but lifted the Hamilton Row team up to third from bottom.
Howard Spoors put the visitors ahead but then the home side hit three in a row through Mick Thompson, Derek Graham and Barry Sims. Tom Dowson took the second point for the visitors but the Colin Metcalfe completed the singles points for Hamilton Row, before they took all three doubles to win 7-2.
Tow Law Station won the Championship with a ten point gap over Tow Law New Market B, who were four points ahead of Lanchester King's Head.
Willington League
Hunwick Quarry Burn went into their match at Willington Black Horse Tavern as the joint leaders but they came away with only two points to allow Hunwick Club to jump four points clear above them and Howden Australian to move alongside.
Dave Robson took the only singles point for the Quarry Burn, whilst the home side had wins from Dale Wilson, Neville Ridley, Tommy Parkin, Donald Young and Mark Davis. Jimmy Mason and Danny Edmundson took the first doubles for the visitors but the home side emphasised a good win by taking the final two doubles.
