Killingworth Arms' match against Usworth was off as the ground was water-logged and Billingham Wanderers' win over Owton Manor puts them top of the Premier.
Billingham settled well and Charlie Bell set up a chance for Keith Corner which he struck home after 15 minutes. The midfield was being dominated by man of the match Harry Davies, and after the interval it was no surprise when a Keith Aldridge shot hit the bar and was forced home by Corner for his second. And from an Eric Barrett cross Corner got his well-deserved hat trick.
After 60 mins Paul Dodds, the home keeper saved another penalty, this time from Chris Guffick, and then Aldridge made it four and with the last kick of the game. Dodds' record of six penalty saves was finally broken when Guffick got a consolation for the Hartlepool side. For the Teessiders Jim Loughran and Keith Corner were outstanding.
Ferryhill Greyhound lost 2-0 away to Penshaw Catholic Club. Penshaw took the lead when Robinson slotted home a penalty kick but both sides failed to convert scoring chances. After the restart Garbisher scored to put Penshaw 2-0 up then Davison shot wide with a penalty kick. Thompson and Forster starred for Penshaw. Dave Wright and the old war horse Frank Stocker played well for Ferryhill.
In Division One Mrs Flints "Pirates" disappointed losing 5-3 at home to Sedgefield. The first-half was fairly even with very few scoring chances, but the restart saw both sides explode into action. Sedgefield took the lead through Carruthers and Stephenson then made it 2-0. The "Pirates" fought back and goals from Alan Gates to put them level only for Barber to score regained the lead for the visitors. The "Pirates" came back again and Duncan Towers equalised. Sedgefield refused to give and in a grandstand finish scored twice through Carruthers and Robson to run at 5-3 winners.
Langley Park Rams Head lost 7-1 at home to Grindon. Trailing 4-0 at the interval the Rams never looked like saving the game and three more goals settled the issue. The score did not reflect the outcome of the game, summing up Grindon took their chances but the Rams wasted theirs. They took an early lead through Graham Hammond, Ronnie Sexton made it 2-0 with a fine solo effort and Paul Fenwick made it 3-0 close on half-time. Norman Oates made it 4-0 after the restart. Stars for the Castle were Brian Watson, Duggie Wallace and Phil Dawes.
Cleveland Bridge lost 1-0 at home to the unbeaten leaders Barnes Hotel in a very close game. The first-half was goal-less the all important goal was scored by Jimmy Hayden mid-way into the second half.

Darlington Church and Friendly League
Aycliffe Saints met SCA at The Oak Leaf Sports Complex and came away with a comfortable 7-3 win in a game they dominated from start to finish. The Saints played some of their best football of the season to defeat a side who are dangerous if allowed to dictate the pace of the game. Saints goalscorer's were Mick Cave, Mick Bell, Peter Cliff, Johnny Hall, Dave Morgan, Chris Clark and Wayne Reynoldson.
The Otter and Fish continued their high scoring run of late with a commanding 9-0 victory over DGSOB. The Otter are the form team in the League at the moment and it will take a good side to lower their colours. The Otters goals were scored by Simon Middlemiss (4), Neil Bell (2), Wayne King, Kelvin Russell and one from the irrepressible Billy Fish.
A superb game took place between The Mowden and Elm Road WMC which ended 3-3.
This was a game of all out attacking football between two very good sides with both teams agreeing that a point each was the right result.
The Mowden's goals were scored by Ritchie Dodsworth with a brace and
a stunning headed goal by Mowdens answer to Tony Adams, Rick Brown, who was flung forward in the last few minutes and rewarded his manager with the goal that salvaged a point for his team. The Elm Road scorers were Neil Franklin and one each for the Dorkson brothers, Carl and Craig.
The surprise result of the day was in the game between the Tap and Spile and and Hydro which resulted in a 4-2 win for the Tappers - their first points of the season.
The Hydro goals were scored by Nev. Richardson and Martin Haigh.
RA Youth were in no mood for surprises against The Greyhound and rattled in seven goals without reply. Darren Kokes led the scoring stakes with four, James Emmerson, Mark Swanage and James Parkinson (from right-back) were the other scorers.
Another stirring game took place up at Deerbolt between Deepdale and Wheatsheaf Wanderers which resulted in a 6-3 win for the home side. This was a fast and furious match with tackles flying in from both sides and no quarter given or asked. The Deepdale scorers were Paul Hughes(2), John Smith(2), Chris Howard and Tremaine Burrows.
In the Durham Minor Cup Central Borough had a tremendous win over Darlington Greyhounds from The Darlington District League by a scoreline of 3-2.
The Boro scorers were Chris Barr, Chris Clack and Jamie Colgrave. Our other two teams went out of the competition - The Royal were beaten 8-1 by a very strong South Shields Prince Edward and The Three Tuns from Shildon went down 4-2 to Billingham Telstar. The League's best wishes go to Central Borough who are now through to the First Round Proper.
