A JUDGE has agreed to give health campaigners more time to put their case for a public inquiry into the Richard Neale scandal.
Lawyers representing victims of Mr Neale, the former gynaecologist in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, struck off for botching operations, were in the High Court in London yesterday.
The group, which includes more than 200 women treated by the former Friarage Hospital surgeon, has been given leave to apply for a judicial review to overturn the internal inquiry offered by the Department of Health.
But there is concern that just two days have been allocated for the hearing and they have become bracketed with a separate campaign group.
The group was seeking more time for its application and a separate hearing. While it secured up to an extra two days in court, the judge ordered that the two groups should be heard together.
