WORK is under way to look at ways of celebrating the rich culture and heritage of Hartlepool's historic Headland.
Arts link officers Roger Dickinson and Mary Paterson have been appointed by the North Hartlepool Partnership to work with residents on a range of arts projects in the area.
Mr Dickinson, an artist and trained sculptor, aims to use local history and folklore to develop a story trail to guide visitors round the Headland.
He also plans to build up an archive of people's reminiscences of Headland history.
Ms Paterson, whose record includes being involved with Darlington's brick train sculpture, will be working with local people on ways of using art to revitalise the promenade.
