A SCHEME to convert old brewery maltings into 28 new homes is being recommended for refusal when planners meet on Thursday.
Historic Buildings Conservation wants to convert the Grade II listed New Maltings at Langthorpe, Boroughbridge, into the new homes.
But planning officer Pat Sutor is recommending Harrogate borough councillors refuse the application.
The building, which has been empty since the mid-1960s, was at the northern end of a brewery complex, some of which has already been converted into homes.
Langthorpe Parish Council has protested that there is inadequate parking and residents have raised traffic concerns and fears that nearby allotments could be lost to parking
