A project to help young people in Redcar has been opened by the town's MP.
Vera Baird QC launched The Junction, in Station Road, in front of an audience of young people, friends and representatives of agencies which support young people.
The Junction is the new name for OK4, the young people's centre which provides information, support, counselling and resources for the under-25s and aims to help them consider their options at what may be a difficult time in their lives.
Nightstop, which provides emergency accommodation for youngsters in volunteers' homes, and Smartmove, a bond guarantee scheme, will also be in the premises.
The centre will be open from 1pm until 5pm, Tuesdays to Fridays, for individual support and information, and on Tuesday and Thursday nights for meet and eat sessions.
There are four employees and ten volunteers. More volunteers are welcome.
The service has been set up with a three-year grant from the Community Fund
