BAKER Milligans has teamed up with the Co-op to open an in-store bakery at a Wearside superstore.
The bakery is part of a new supermarket in Houghton-le-Spring. It follows Milligans opening at the Chester-le-Street Co-op earlier in the year.
Milligans chairman Lloyd Milligan said: "We are delighted with this new liaison because my father learned to be a bread baker and my mother was taught her pastry and confectionery skills at the Barrow-in-Furness Co-op, back in the early 1940s. The family has always held the Co-op in high regard."
