PLANS to build a primary school in Ingleby Barwick have been approved.
Councillors from Stockton Borough Council have agreed to the scheme to build the school in the Broom Hill Village area of the estate.
In 1991, the master plan for Ingleby Barwick was revised and it identified a need for a primary school to serve villages five and six.
The school will be a modern design, mainly single storey, and will be in character with proposed neighbouring housing developments. It will accommodate more than 200 pupils.
A report to the council said: "The provision of a primary school is essential to address the educational needs of Ingleby Barwick."
