A GROUP which offers help to victims of rape is looking for volunteers.
The Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre for Darlington and County Durham is holding a training programme in the new year.
The centre provides a free and confidential service for women who have experienced sexual violence.
As part of its expansion plans, the group is looking for female volunteers who appreciate the sensitive and confidential nature of the work.
Lynne Hinde, administrator at the centre, said: "We are happy to hear from those with or without counselling experience, as we work with people on a number of levels,
"However, we would expect applicants to have a genuine interest and concern for those who seek our support."
For details, contact Lynne Hinde, on (01325) 354119, between 9.30am and 1pm Monday to Friday, or write to: PO Box 106, Darlington, DL3 7YS.
All correspondence will be treated in confidence.
