JENNY Wayman's dedication to training has helped her land a dream job at The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, County Durham.
Jenny, 17, from Baldersdale, Teesdale, left school at 16 determined to ensure she had the qualifications for a career in administration.
Through the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) County Durham, she began training with Teesdale Training and moved on to a placement with GlaxoSmithKline in Barnard Castle.
Now her hard work and determination has helped her to win a job at the museum, one of the region's top visitor attractions.
Having gained NVQ level two qualifications she is now working towards an NVQ level three in administration.
She said: "My parents used to bring me to the museum when I was younger, but I never thought I'd be working here.
"The job is really varied and it's wonderful to work in such beautiful surroundings while learning about the museum and its thousands of exhibits."
Jenny intends to continue her training, including taking a computer and customer care course to help further develop her career.
Information about apprenticeships and work-based training for school leavers, covering more than 80 different careers, is available from the LSC County Durham on (01325) 372301.
