Man quizzed over mail van
DETECTIVES last night questioned a man after a Post Office van was driven off from Eastbourne Road, Middlesbrough. A police spotter plane was brought in to track the van, and police on the ground moved in and arrested a man. He was taken to Middlesbrough police station for questioning.
NEW SCANNERS: A Teesside NHS trust has been able to buy five new ultrasound scanners, and will buy a sixth in March, at a cost of £500,000. The new scanners have been put in the antenatal and radiology departments at the University Hospital of North Tees, and the University Hospital of Hartlepool, which are run by the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust. The sixth scanner will go to the Peterlee Community Hospital. Patients and medical staff will be able to see a crystal-clear image of the baby in the womb with the new machines.
