QUAKERS face a striker crisis ahead of the start of the busy holiday period.
With the recall of two-goal Daniel Chillingworth by Cambridge United just hours into his second month on loan, Darlington manager Tommy Taylor must decide who is to partner fit-again Danny Mellanby up front against Cheltenham Town at Feethams tomorrow.
Top scorer Barry Conlon is still suspended, while Clint Marcelle and Kirk Jackson are out of favour after managing just one goal between them in almost a year at the club.
Taylor also faces selection posers elsewhere with midfielder Mark Ford also suspended, and defender Gary Caldwell returning to Newcastle United after a loan spell.
On Boxing Day, Quakers make the short trip to Carlisle to face the struggling Cumbrians.
On Saturday, Taylor's men were unlucky to go down 1-0 at table-topping Plymouth Argyle, the Pilgrims' scoring with ten minutes to go after a dour struggle. Caldwell was sent off in the dying minutes for a second bookable offence.
