A RUBBISH fire on Shildon's Timothy Hackworth Industrial Estate last night may have been started deliberately, Bishop Auckland Fire Brigade said.
Firefighters were unable to break the ten tonnes of rubbish apart and were forced to keep guard as the fire burned itself out. Firefighters from Darlington took over as relief in the early hours today.
