MIDDLESBROUGH'S Premiership clash with Fulham has been postponed along with Darlington's third division encounter with Cheltenham at Feethams after heavy overnight snow.
Despite the Riverside pitch being in a playable condition, Boro's game was forced to be abandoned after a safety inspection.
"Following a safety inspection on all routes leading to the stadium, including pedestrian access, it was decided that it was unsafe to allow the match to take place," a club spokesman said.
"A number of factors were taken into consideration, including the expected deterioration of the weather conditions. It is disappointing as the pitch is perfectly playable.
"However, there were still concerns as to the conditions of the seated areas and the deteriorating weather forecast."
Darlington's game was postponed after an 11.30am pitch inspection.
New new date has been set for either games.
