A CHARITY shop has won a Christmas window competition in Redcar for the second year running.
The competition is organised by Redcar Business Association and most of the shops along the High Street and neighbouring roads take part by dressing their shop windows with Christmas decorations.
This year, the judges - Redcar MP Vera Baird, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council mayor Vilma Collins and mayoress Barbara Beadman - spent an afternoon touring the town deciding which was the best window.
In the end, they plumped for the Teesside Hospice shop because it was felt it had the biggest impact and had paid so much attention to detail.
The windows competition was split into two themes. One was based on a traditional Nativity theme, while the other focused on excited children waiting for Father Christmas to come down the chimney.
Highly commended prizes were also awarded to Boyes, Chandlers and Talk About.
