PUPILS of a Darlington school have been presented with awards for their examination results.
The presentation and prize-giving at Carmel RC Technology College was hosted by Euro MP Stephen Hughes.
This year, 66 per cent of GCSE students achieved five or more passes at grades A to C, and there was a 92 per cent pass rate for the school's A-level students.
James O'Neill, headteacher, said: "I was delighted that Stephen Hughes was able to present our students, past and present, with their certificates and awards.
"He has supported the college for a number of years, taking an interest in the progress we have made."

Tees Valley in Business Technology Prize: Kelly Charleton.

Barclays Bank mathematics prize: David West and Kathryn Cosgrove.
NTL prize for information and communication technology: Daniel Cooper.
RE prize: Helen Bleasdale.
Geography prize: Mark Harrison.
History prize: Christie Johnson.
Mary Johnston English prize: Christie Johnson.
James Corr prize for best A-level results: Christie Johnson and Mark Harrison.
Technocopy prize for best GCSE results: Hollie Marchant.
John Caden Cup: Samantha Stokell.
