BURGLARY and anti-social behaviour top the list of worries of Middlesbrough people, according to a survey of almost 6,000 residents.
But the Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Survey also shows that many people are happy with their area and feel they have a fair share of input into how local services are organised.
The survey, conducted for local strategic partnership, Middlesbrough Neighbourhood, is the biggest carried out on public attitudes in the town.
Interviews were conducted with 5,700 residents, the majority of whom live in disadvantaged areas of Middlesbrough.
Coun Sylvia Connolly, deputy leader of Middlesbrough Council, said the survey would help the council and other agencies to improve people's quality of life.
"The people of Middlesbrough have spoken directly to us in this survey and it is important we listen to what they've said," she added.
