Bishop Auckland are still without a league win under Alan Shoulder after they failed to beat Frickley at Kingsway on Saturday.
The Yorkshire side finished the game with only nine men after having two players red-carded, but Bishops threw the game away after taking an early lead.
"That was the worst we've played since I came here," said Shoulder.
"We took the foot off the pedal, and made it hard for ourselves. We weren't anything like the way we played against Lancaster in midweek."
Bishops appeared to be well in control after seven minutes, when Kevin Shoulder was brought down by Frickley keeper Mark Wilkinson, who was dismissed, and Andrew Shaw scored from the spot.
Bishops missed chances to increase their lead, and let Frickley back into the game.
The visitors levelled after 70 minutes when Andy Evans headed in from a corner, and with five minutes left were reduced to nine men, but managed to hang on.
Spennymoor continued their climb up the First Division table with a 2-1 home win over Chorley.
Moors trailed to an early goal, but they improved considerably in the second half.
Jason Ainsley set up Stephen Bell to equalise from the edge of the box, and with ten minutes left, Ainsley sent Edgcumbe through for the winner.
Manager Tony Lee, who has yet to taste defeat in seven matches, said: "The players showed great character in difficult conditions. When we increased the tempo in the second half, we played much better."
Whitby Town caused a shock in the Premier Division relegation zone when they won 3-2 at title chasing Lancaster City. They were a goal down early in the game, but Ben Dixon and Alex Gildea put them into the lead.
Lancaster equalised, but Lee Ure, who has been on trial with Darlington, pounced on a poor back pass to score the winner.
Gateshead were held to a 2-2 draw at Burscough, Steve Preen scoring a late equaliser.
Blyth beat Bradford 4-1, Glen Robson (2), Carl Pepper and Gary Innes scored the goals.
