Chief executive Bob Clarke said an appeal was being launched for the project, which will complement other day centres at Whitby and Scarborough run by the hospice trust. St Catherine's has just announced plans to build a £5m hospice at High Mill Farm, Throxenby, on the outskirts of Scarborough.
