A MAN had to be treated in hospital after he was punched and bitten in the face outside a nightclub in Hartlepool on Sunday morning.
The man was approached by a group of five men in the car park at the back of the Wesley nightclub, at 1.45am. One of the men went up to the victim and punched him in the face. As he lay on the floor, he was bitten on the face.
He received treatment for an injury to his lip at Middlesbrough General Hospital.
The attacker is described as between 20 and 25 years of age, 5ft 8in and was wearing a black, short-sleeved shirt, dark trousers and black shoes. He had short, dark hair, brushed forward.
PC Christopher Dring, from Hartlepool police, said: "This was a nasty and vicious attack that has left the victim with serious facial injuries."
