YOUNGSTERS plan to go on a sponsored starve - to help their counterparts in countries ravaged by war.
Young people from the Methodist Church in Brompton, Northallerton, are to go without food for 24 hours to raise money for children in places such as Bosnia, Angola and Uganda.
They have signed up for the 24-Hour Famine organised by the international development agency World Vision. The event will take place during February 16 and 17.
Youth leader Karen Breckon said: "There are 364 days in the year to eat what we want, so it's a small sacrifice that's going to make a big difference."
World Vision spokesman Kenny Wickens said: "We are so grateful for the sacrifice of these young people. The money they raise is going to change lives wrecked by war."
