FIVE houses were raided in weekend burglaries across Darlington.
Police are investigating the incidents at various locations in the town, in which electrical equipment was taken.
Houses in Corporation Road, Grainger Street and Sanderson Street were burgled on Saturday. The following day, properties in Barmpton Lane and The Mead were targeted.
Thieves also tried to break into a house in Hewitson Road between 8.50pm and 9pm on Sunday.
In Barmpton Lane, between 7.40pm and 8.15pm on Sunday, cheque books, building society books, cash cards, store cards, a mobile phone and £80 in cash were taken.
A laptop computer, digital camera and video camera were taken from The Mead between 2am and 9.36am on Sunday, while compact discs and video cassettes were taken from Corporation Road between noon and 5.15pm, on Saturday.
An ntl digital TV box, video recorder and vacuum cleaner were taken from a house in Grainger Street, between 2.30pm and 4pm on Saturday, while a camcorder and cash were taken from the house in Sanderson Street between 12.30pm and 3.40pm the same day.
