CAST from The Ghost Train, being staged in the region, recreated a scene from the play at the home of the railways this week.
Henry McGee, from The Benny Hill Show, and Christopher Strauli, of Only When I Laugh, and Full House visited Darlington Railway Museum and saw Locomotion No 1, which opened the Stockton and Darlington passenger railway line in 1825.
They are joined in The Ghost Train at Darlington Civic Theatre by Judy Cornwell, from Full House and Ian Lavender, from Eastenders and Dad's Army.
A spokesman for the theatre said: "The play is about six passengers on a train in Cornwall which gets stranded at a station.
"They decide the best way to get through the night is to spend it in the station waiting room, but strange things start to happen. It's about how they get through the night."
The show opened at the Civic Theatre on Tuesday and runs until Saturday. For tickets, contact the box office on (01325) 486555.
