WITH Pop Idol captivating millions of young TV viewers across the country, four students have set out on their own road to music stardom.
The teenagers, from Lady Lumley's School, in Pickering, have been working with the Connecting Youth Culture arts scheme to produce a compact disc showcasing their talents.
The album, which will go on sale to other students over the next few weeks, has won high praise from project organisers.
Gill Garbutt, community education manager, said: "Sometimes it is quite difficult to find new projects to get young people motivated, but this has really taken off.
"I think we have found the next Hear'Say - it has been really good fun.
