A PHOTOGRAPHY student was dancing with joy after winning a national photographic competition.
Newcastle College student James Postlethwaite, 23, was successful in a contest run by DJ - a dance music magazine.
He won with his image of DJ Patife, a guest DJ at Newcastle's Scotland Yard club which, judges said, managed to capture the interaction between the DJ and his music.
The prize included a chance to go behind the scenes at a leading music venue. Mr Postlethwaite chose the Bacardi Breezer dance event, at Newcastle's Telewest Arena, and spent the evening taking photographs.
He said: "The competition not only let me combine two really important areas of my life, but also gave me the chance to gauge my work against other photographers across the country."
