STUDENT Daniel McColl is taking steps to securing a holiday of a lifetime - 240 of them.
The 19-year-old, studying sports science at the University of Teesside, at Middlesbrough, has to raise £3,000 to pay for an expedition with Raleigh International, which will take him to South America, this summer.
The teenager has so far managed to raise only £500 towards the cost of the trip. He was hoping by climbing up and down the ten floors of a stair tower on the campus for six hours, to raise more sponsorship towards realising his goal.
Daniel went up and down the 240 steps 75 times, which was equivalent to the height of a mountain which he hopes to see in Peru.
