COUNTY Durham local groups are celebrating after winning grants totalling £165,999 from the National Lottery Awards for All.
Forty-three organisations have been given awards ranging from £600 to £5,000.
Among the recipients is Durham County Scout Association which will use its £5,000 to train 40 scouts and guides for an international jamboree.
County Durham Badmin- ton Association gets £5,000, for coaches and taster sessions. Tantobie Charities, near Stanley, is getting £3,595 for an event to mark the Queen's jubilee and the Friends of Langley Park School are getting £5,000 to create a fitness trail.
Brandon Carrside Youth Club gets £3,360 to improve its clubhouse kitchen and Pittington Village Hall Association, £4,200 for double glazing.
The East Durham Domestic Violence Forum gets £5,000 for a seminar on the impact of domestic violence on children.
The 2nd Blackhall Scout Group gets £5,000 for camping equipment and Trimdon Grange Community Centre £4,146 to set up a youth club.
£1,442 given to Teesdale Credit Union will go towards volunteer training and the South Church Lane Allotment Association has £4,984 to buy equipment.
Middleton-in-Teesdale and District Village Hall Association gets £5,000 for a town architectural survey and Deaf Hill Primary School gets £4,101 to launch an out-of-school gymnastics club.
