A plan by the parish council in Robin Hood's Bay to give a toilet a new lease of life has been given a £2,000 grant by Scarborough Borough Council.
Fylingthorpe Parish Council came up with the scheme as an answer to the borough council's plan to close the toilets.
The council's northern area committee has also agreed to provide £1,000 during the next two years to the village's Tourism Association to produce a holiday guide and information pack for tourists.
Other grants include £1,500 to the Stepping Stones Drop-in Centre, in Whitby, for a kitchen; £1,500 for each of the next two years towards a caretaker, in Egton; and £5,000 for a heating system at the Green Lane Play Centre, Whitby.
