PEOPLE living in a Redcar residential home have been thanked for their contribution to the local branch of the Royal British Legion.
Several ex-servicemen live at Cherry Tree House, in Coat-ham Road, and the town's cenotaph is in its gardens. Every year, residents join in with fundraising activities for Poppy Day, help organise Remembrance Day events, and keep a watch on the garden of remembrance, which is opposite the home.
Legion secretary Eric Howden has presented the residents with a framed certificate of appreciation.
