WORKSHOPS to create a huge wall hanging for Durham Cathedral are being launched.
The Discovery Centre, in Bishop Auckland, is working alongside Green Explorers to develop the workshops for young people between eight and 18.
Activities included are working with textile artist Lone Grinter producing calico squares for the hanging; medieval art with artist Eddy Hardy and making textile stained glass windows.
The workshops take place at the Discovery Centre today.
Juice and biscuits will be provided, and there will be a charge of £2 to help cover costs.
Those taking part in the workshops will also be invited to take part in a dedication service at Durham Cathedral on May 27.
