A LIVELY diabetic terrier bitch is in need of a loving new home.
Lady, a two-year-old border terrier-cross, is in the care of the National Canine Defence League's Darlington Rehoming Centre.
The dog is diabetic and would need two simple injections every day from its new owner.
But the condition is covered by the league's foster scheme, meaning the new owner would have all Lady's veterinary bills relating to its condition paid by the charity, even after it has been re-homed.
Manager of the National Canine Defence League for Darlington, Catherine Gillie, described Lady as affectionate.
She said: "She really deserves a new home with a family that will love her."
She is keen to reassure any potential owner that the injections necessary would not be difficult to administer, and said: "Lady is quite capable of leading a normal, happy life."
Lady, like all the league's dogs, will be neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated before being rehomed.
They are also vet-checked and their behaviour assessed before being offered for adoption. Care continues from the home after adoption, because all dogs have six weeks free pet insurance.
Anyone interested in providing Lady with the stable, caring home she so desperately needs, or wishes to receive information on other dogs available for adoption, can contact the National Canine Defence League on (01325) 333114.
