DRUGS officers carried out a major raid yesterday as part of a crackdown on dealers.
Police in Middlesbrough carried out the operation as part of the Dealer A Day campaign launched two months ago.
The swoops took place on two houses in Deepdale Avenue, in the Grove Hill area of the town.
A 59-year-old man and his 48-year-old wife were arrested, along with a 43-year-old man from Grangetown.
Detective Superintendent Adrian Roberts, who pioneered and is leading the initiative, said: "This is the best result for the Dealer A Day campaign so far."
Before yesterday's operation, officers had carried out 101 swoops since the campaign was launched, on December 3. There have been 96 arrests.
Anyone with information about drug dealers is asked to contact any police officer, or ring Crimestoppers, on 0800 555111
