POLICE are planning to open an Aladdin's cave of recovered bicycles at the weekend.
In recent months, officers from the Wallsend area command of Northumbria Police have recovered scores of bikes from properties across the area, many of which are believed to have been stolen.
Forest Hall police station will host an open day on Saturday and anyone who has lost a bike in the area is welcome to attend to see whether theirs has been recovered.
Detective Chief Inspector Frank Gallop said: "We have everything from children's bikes to mountain bikes in the store, although some are in poor condition.
"We will also be using the day to offer advice on simple measures to take to make sure bikes and other property are not stolen."
