TEENAGERS from Russia, Slovakia, Hungary, France and Germany showed off their culinary skills when they visited Bishop Auckland College.
The 36 students are visiting County Durham on an educational trip with Durham County Council. As part of the trip 22 of the 16-year-olds took over the kitchens at Bishop Auckland College to demonstrate dishes from each country.
The dishes included traditional English cuisine cooked by catering students at the college. The idea was to show different styles of cooking traditional to each country.
Richard Hinch, head of catering at the college, said: "They had 90 minutes to prepare the food before it was served. We try to give our catering students as much experience as possible and this gave them a chance to actually host an event, which brings together students from five other countries."
