A PHARMACIST jailed over a prescription scam involving oxygen cylinders has applied to be restored to the medical register.
Zia Ul Haq, of Spennymoor, County Durham, was said to have swindled £17,000 in the fraud and was jailed for 21 months.
At Teesside Crown Court in June 2000, he was sentenced alongside local GP Dr Bhagat, after admitting conspiracy to defraud County Durham Health Authority.
Six months after his conviction, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society struck off Ul Haq, who worked at M&M Chemists, in Church Street, Shildon, County Durham.
He will apply to be restored to the register on Wednesday.
