YOUNGSTERS at a Redcar school are being given the opportunity to meet some of the most horrible and murderous authors in the country.
Murderous Maths author Kjartan Poskitt will visit Rye Hills School on Monday to give a series of talks to year 11 GCSE maths pupils as he has recently written an alternative GCSE revision guide.
He will return to the school on April 10 to help year nine pupils sitting this year's Sats exams to make the most of maths by giving then hints and tips and showing them tricks with numbers.
On May 30, Nick Arnold, the author of Horrible Science will deliver some inter-active sessions with pupils. He will show them some "nasty" experiments and talk about the more gruesome side of science.
It is hoped the events will show pupils a fun, but informative side of their chosen subjects. The school also plans to involve more authors, specialist visitors and events to bring lessons to life.
