Tow Law Scottish & Newcastle Cup
Tow Law Station became the first winners under the new sponsors when they relied on their prowess on the pool table to counteract the Tow Law Black Horse's ability at dominoes.
David Craggs put the Horse ahead at pool with teammates Tony Brown, Jason Kell and Tom Dowson adding dominoes points. The Station then had pool points from Philip Slater, Andrew Burrows, Tommy Sloan, Stephen Turner and Shaun Umpelby. Michael Bell added a vital dominoes points to the Station total to push them one ahead.
The Station took the first pool doubles through Tommy Sloan and Shaun Umpelby only to see Anthony Hird and David Craggs keep the Horse in the match by taking the second. The Horse needed to win the third pool doubles with Jason Kell and Tom Dowson taking on the Station's Steven Maughan and Stephen Turner to force a deciding captain's dominoes game. Tom Dowson went for a clearance and was unlucky to see a ball clip the bump of the middle pocket and come away, leaving the Station to complete their victory.
