A CAMPAIGN to allow a family of Macedonian refugees to stay in the North-East moves to London on Monday.
The Dimitrievski family have been living in Redcar, east Cleveland, for the past 18 months, but have been told they must return to their homeland because it is now considered a safe place to live.
But the family fear for their safety because 36-year-old Marjun is a conscientious objector and believes he, wife Lile and their two sons, Sasha, 11, and eight-year-old Miki, would be in danger.
On Monday, their case goes to an Immigration Appeal Tribunal in London.
Campaigners say the family should be allowed to stay on humanitarian grounds and for the sake of the boys' education.
Pete Widlinski, of the North-East Refugee Coalition, said: "I have a list of about 80 families who have won deportation cases, which they would not have won if it wasn't for a supporting campaign."
l Campaigners will be distributing information leaflets about the Dimitrievskis' plight in Redcar town centre, today
