YOUNGSTERS in schools in the Redcar area could soon be given the chance to learn judo thanks to club funding.
Redcar Judo Club received a grant from the National Lottery's Awards for All scheme which will allow members to take the sport into schools.
The training will cover sport for children aged five and upwards, personal safety awareness aimed at year 11 students and teacher training in anger management and breakaway techniques.
The grant is part of a three-year project which also includes a new website.
The address is www.sportfor-all.uk.com and it is hoped the site will be up and running in the next few weeks.
Schools interested in being part of the club's scheme are asked to call Alan Cawthorne, on (01642) 473694.
