STAFF from a Teesside health trust were encouraged to leave their desks and step out at lunchtime for a Valentine's Heart Walk.
The walk, organised by Tees and North East Yorkshire NHS Trust, was part of a healthy eating and lifestyle campaign called Don't Go Breaking Your Heart. The free walk around Normanby, near Redcar, was just one of the health promotion opportunities available to staff along with weight management sessions, talks and advice on healthy eating, stress relief and giving up smoking.
Organiser Sue Barnard said the walk was a joint venture between the health trust, the Countryside Agency and the British Heart Foundation.
"The aim of the walk is to promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle for a healthy heart and, if successful, may become a regular lunchtime event," she said.
